In the tranquil ambience of the Wellness Studio overlooking verdant views, Namaste therapy sessions support our residents with moderate to advanced dementia in meeting their sensory and emotional aspirations. Mrs L arrived in July and, through connections with therapy assistants and residents, showed greater environmental awareness and increasingly spontaneous communication.
Each session is tailored to Mrs L's preferences — from listening to classical music to enjoying a favourite juice. Gentle hand massages, sensory activities, and familiar sounds and tastes create a nurturing, multisensory experience that inspires comfort and joy.

Mr D arrived at Allium Care Suites after a third right-hip surgery. A year earlier, he had suffered a severe fall with postoperative cardiac complications and presented with mild cognitive impairment. Given the complexity, our allied health team developed a comprehensive recovery plan integrating physiotherapy and cognitive care.
Over four weeks of daily rehabilitation, Mr D progressed to using a quad stick and was soon able to walk independently, bearing full weight over considerable distances. To support his cognitive recovery, indoor and outdoor activities were thoughtfully selected and adapted to suit his personal interests.
It was a deeply affirming moment when follow-up X-rays showed satisfactory results, accompanied by improved cognitive scores, attention, and problem-solving skills. With these strong indicators of recovery, Mr D's family were delighted to welcome him home.
Today, Mr D continues his rehabilitation journey at Allium Care Studio, participating in our physiotherapy and dementia day care programmes.

Mr L arrived at Allium Care Suites in early 2021. Diagnosed with dementia, he displayed cognitive and behavioural symptoms, including agitation, confusion, and aggression, and was often disorientated, searching for misplaced belongings or a way out of his household.
To support his reality orientation, our rehabilitation team labelled his environment, creating a systematic framework to organise belongings, and established a daily routine of activities.
With consistent, empathic validation and meaningful conversations, Mr L's anxiety reduced significantly as he acclimatised to his new environment. The use of a lifelike baby doll as a therapeutic tool further addressed his attachment needs and engaged his paternal instincts.
To enhance his sense of purpose, the team welcomed Mr L into a volunteer role, assisting with portering and engaging with other residents. He is also a spirited member of our Gentlemen's Club, enjoying strategic games of carrom and creative pursuits.

Mr G arrived at Allium Care Suites in early 2020, diagnosed with dementia. He struggled between dependence and his desire for independence, hesitating to join rehabilitation activities and spending much of his time in his suite, withdrawn from social interaction.
To nurture his sense of control, our therapists engaged Mr G in casual conversations and encouraged him to demonstrate his abilities through daily activities. In a therapeutic and empathic environment, he began to feel supported and valued. On occasion, he expressed a renewed sense of purpose, applying his skills as a surgeon in culinary and gardening activities. Daily cognitive training improved his scores, attention span, and engagement with others.
Today, Mr G is a proud member of our Gentlemen's Club, enjoying carrom games and physical pursuits with other residents. A gentleman of quiet disposition, he now enjoys light-hearted banter with his new friends.

Meet Mr O, our 77-year-old resident who suffered a bilateral stroke in January. Formerly an active automotive technician, he became suddenly aphasic and unable to stand or walk. Following hospital discharge, Mr O arrived at Allium Care Suites.
Initially, right-sided neglect left him barely able to lift his right arm, and he was excessively sleepy and resistant to therapy. With a progressive plan of four sessions a week focusing on physical strength, cognition and socialisation, Mr O made significant progress.
After 30 days, he corrected his lean and could walk with a walking frame. Mr O also regained independence in feeding and dressing.
Therapy assistants introduced recreational pursuits, such as cooking, to engage his interests and encourage conversation. Mr O's impassive expression transformed to smiles.
Today, Mr O responds to greetings and understands simple sentences. Remarkably, he can walk with handheld assistance.

Mr C arrived at Allium Care Suites at 60, wheelchair-bound after a fall at home and a prolonged hospital stay. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at 50, progressive neuropsychiatric symptoms left his family overwhelmed and helpless.
At the start, Mr C required maximal assistance for mobility with a walking aid. He was unable to self-feed and required nasogastric tube feeding, often fatigued and disengaged from group activities.
His rehabilitation programme was meticulously planned around his medication and feeding schedules. Daily morning group exercises, alongside individualised physiotherapy and occupational therapy, gradually built his strength.
Three months later, our team of doctors, speech therapist, and dietitian celebrated a key milestone when Mr C transitioned from nasogastric tube to oral feeding. As his strength improved, he became more alert and participated in weekly badminton and bowling sessions. On good days, he walks under close supervision without a walking aid.
Today, Mr C enjoys walking to the TV area and sharing meals with his new friends. Self-feeding may seem simple, but for Mr C it was a challenging achievement through consistent, progressive therapy.
